So yes, it may be that denial will get you to such an elevated state of arousal that it makes you cum. No harm in trying!

In my experience (and it was only ever one person I could get to cum from this) it’s quite different from other orgasms, less intense and more spread out. It is in fact possible you were having some kind of ruined nipple orgasm before, from what you describe!
